With the improvement of people's quality of life, precious metal jewelry plays an important role in people's lives. The institutions of the precious metal testing lab must meet the CNAS-CL01 “Accreditation Criteria for the Competence of Testing and Calibration Laboratories” and CNAS-CL24 “Guidance on the Application of Lab Competence Accreditation Criteria in Jewelry and Precious Metal Testing”.

1. Vibration and noise are ambient conditions that must be assessed during the lab accreditation. The construction of a professional lab must be kept away from the factories with noise and vibration generally, and it is better not to build a lab beside the street because the passing trucks will bring strong vibration to the ground floor of frontage of the lab building.

2. Grounding protection measures should be taken instead of neutral earthing, as it is very important for lab.

3. The lab prone to produce harmful and toxic gases should be located on the top floor of the lab building. The fume hood should be designed with an induced draft fan which is placed higher than the fume hood and preferably on the roof. Two or three fume hoods located at other floors can be connected to each other, sharing an air duct and a large-flow induced draft fan.
